Hirshl Hurvitz, the son of a wealthy family, falls under the spell of Blume Nacht, a poor orphan who works in his family's household. However, his mother opposes their relationship and arranges a match for him with the wealthy Mina. Months go by, but Hirshl cannot free himself from his first love, which torments him and drives him to the brink of madness.
"A Simple Tale" is one of S.Y. Agnon’s most beloved and famous works — a text full of poetry, humor, and love — now brought to the stage of the Khan Theater in Jerusalem for the first time, in a new and stirring adaptation, marking 90 years since the publication of the original edition.
Running time: about 90 minutes, no intermission
